Gordon Sturgeon, President

Gordon Sturgeon, Ph.D. has more than 25 years of experience as a geologist and hydrologist in industry, government, and academia. He has researched novel, cost-effective approaches to characterizing aquifers, planned and supervised groundwater investigations for the U.S. EPA and U.S. Navy, and discovered new sources of groundwater for North Dakota farmers. From 2014 to 2016, Dr. Sturgeon explored for safe drinking and irrigation water in Uganda under the auspices of a missionary sending agency. In 2017, he founded Groundwater Location Project (GULP).

Sarah Wolverton, Secretary

Sarah Wolverton attended college for two years, majoring initially in pre-medicine and then in business administration with a concentration in nonprofits, before marrying her best friend. She has traveled to Guatemala, Rwanda, and Uganda, has a heart for service to the poor, and will resume her formal education as soon as her husband completes his undergraduate studies.

Ellyn Sturgeon, Treasurer

For over 35 years Ellyn Sturgeon has worked as a bookkeeper, administrative assistant, and director of development in nonprofit organizations, schools, churches, law firms, banks, manufacturing companies, medical practices, and state government. From 2014 to 2016 she lived in Uganda, started a micro-enterprise program for widows, and along with her husband, helped Ugandans who were in need of medical care receive proper treatment.

Dennis Omaria, Community Relations

Dennis is a graduate of Makerere University. He serves as interpreter, field assistant, and community relations specialist. His key role is to establish and nurture meaningful relationships between our organization, important individuals, and the communities we serve in the Teso Sub-region of Uganda.
